I bought a used 2007 Volkswagen in March of 2011 it had 23,000 miles on it and still under manufactory warranty. The vin# checked out clean. After a rain storm the car had a foul smell it was leaking in the hatchback and back seat. I called Balise and told them there was water mold and rust on and under carpet. I told Balise I didn't want the car because there was to many problems. They took the car for service and told me they change the carpet and insulation. I picked the car up a week later. The carpet and insulation were not changed there was still a foul smeel in the car.(enough to make you gag) On my invoice it said a 4 wheel alignment had been done. I asked for a print out of the results it showed everything was ok but one problem it was a print out of a alignment for a 99-05 Jetta not a 07 rabbit. I then had the car put on a alignment macine at Sears the results from that showed accessive toe in front wheels. The car has been back in service at Balise two more times since then and still has same issues. I was concerned with all the problems so I had a essiamate done from a autobody shop. This is a list of what they found rear bumper needs to be replaced, rear quater needs to be replace, rocker panel needs to be replaced rear door needs to be repainted all do to improper repairs (poor workmanship and bondo). Other issues found were after market parts used on front end repairs (note still under factoy should not have aftermarket body parts) Also written into estimate is that the front wheels were still out of alignment. I have told Balise I don't want the car every time I have talked to them about the car. I have been told they couldn't give me my money back but they would put me in another car. I was givin about 5 cars to choose from because thats what they have in the same price range. These cars all have 40,000 plus miles why should I to choose a car with twice the mileage. I contacted BBB about this they tell me there is to many miles on car to do anything about it. I have contacted Lemon Law and they tell me its under factory warranty so it can't be a lemon. So if carfax is not effective, thelemon law can't help and BBB can't help who is there to help us consumers?
