I rented my home out for a short time I had the water turned off, and the tenants were to get service in there name. The F. H PUD required a sec. deposit from the tenants to have water service turned on in there name. .
Long story short, they were bad renters, didn't pay rent or there bills.
Instead of the Foresthill PUD turning off the water to the home when their required security deposit was used up, they continued to allow the tenants bill to climax.
When I finally got the tenants out, I learned that the water was off, I was asked to sign a contract to take responsibility of the tenants water bill, which was over $400.00 above the required security deposit by the Foresthill PUD.
I have received one pervious bill in the amount of $48.21 threw 10-05-2010 which I paid and was my water service. Than on Friday 11-12-2010 I received a bill for $440.78 dated 08-19-2010 to 10-15-2010.
I cannot find anyone who regulated this district, I know for a fact that the tenants has an aunt who works for the Foresthill PUD, I spoke with Curt Reed the head guy, who was very sny, about the whole thing, I asked him " Why was the tenant required to pay a security deposit to turn on the service, and than allowed to go over their security deposit amount and to continue to rack up the bill?
His reply was that there was a leak, I told Kurt that I was never notified until after the fact, so why is this my responsibility? Kurt just said that, it's the law in California, and he said he will not give me water service, but I will continue to be charged the minium surcharge until I pay the tenants account in full.
I have been charge late fees, disconnect fees, re-hookup fees, I think this is just criminal, and in closing I told Curt Reed, "I hope this happens to him, and he might be a little more humbled. His reply was "I pay my bills!, I told him that this is not my bill if it was I should have been receiving an invoice, he replied with, "WELL I WILL JUST LEAN YOUR PROPERTY"
I told him that I sent the payment in full and that I did it under protest. He hung up on me.
I am left with over 10,000.00 in repairs from damage by the pervious tenants, and unpaid rents of $ 6,200.00, and now contunied to be ripped off by the Foresthill Public Utility District (530) 367-2511. I waunder how many other people who has been ripped off while the head guy Curt Reed Lines his pockets.
