I bought a Sealy Posturepedic Mattress and box from Mattress Discounters here in Bay Area in November of 2004. Mattress discounters mentioned that the mattress had a 10 yr warranty. For the past couple of months my back has been hurting which led me to check out my mattress.
The mattress has sagged about 2" in the middle (though I have been rotating it every 2-3 months) so I went to Mattress discounters and they provided me with the info on filing a claim. I filed the claim and waited for a inspector to come and inspect my mattress which happened last week. He took the pictures etc. (no stains on either the box or the mattress). Today I contacted the customer service and they said that Sealy has declined the claim because they said the frame is not correct.
My question to Sealy is how come the mattress worked fine for the past 5 yrs. I saw no sagging issues (frame is still the same). Now that I filed for a claim they came up with this lame excuse. Looks like Sealy Warranty is a BIG SCAM!!!
I truly believe it's not just my story but also of thousands of other consumers who go through this horrible experience and feel cheated in the end.
