For 2 years now I have repeatedly complained to the Walgreens store MANAGER here in Woodstock, Illinois, regarding a policy they initiated by when a customer picks up a prescription and they bring it to the register, they ask you to ORALLY verify all of your personal information!
Now many of you might say that's a good thing, right? Wrong! I'll explain. In between 2-3 yrs ago, I was standing in a line at the Pharmacy, at least 8 people deep; 7 men and a very short skirt in very high heels at the front by the register. She gave her name, loud enough for all to hear, and then was asked to repeat (orally) her name, address, telephone number! Picture this: There were 7 men that all turned and looked at each other as she walked past all of us admiring her sexy and scantilly dressed looks. I immediately played a scenario in my head, like a dream of sorts, that 1 of those men would abruptly leave the line for the parking lot, get into his car and perhaps beat this girl home, after all, he now has her name and address! So I moved on and when it came to me to verify my info I boldly exlained that I would not do that ORALLY, but rather by showing my ID instead. "Oh yeah" the young man said " then you don't get your meds"! I immediately summoned for a Manager and when he came to the pharmacy I explained to him the scenario I played in my own head earlier to what I had witnessed and he literally told me I was dillusional and that they never had a problem before. I said " ofcourse not" once the young woman is D. E.D Dead, how are you going to know she was followed home from the walgreens because YOU gave a killer-rapist her private information? See my point? So I took it up the next day with a District Manager: No-Luck! Then I called corporate and they told me ALL Walgreens have this policy now and that is the way they are going to continue to do business. I said "even if it means for potentially saving someones life!?
So to all you would be killers and rapists out there, if you want an easy mark, go to any Walgreens near you and stand there for 30 minutes or so and just "Listen". I believe this Country for some odd reason loves DRAMA! Instead of prevention, they prefer free commercial air time on the 5 o-clock news! If I thought of it, then what makes these Walgreens Excecutives so smart? SOMEONE ELSE ALREADY HAS THOUGHT OF IT AND IT's JUST A TICKING TIME BOMB!!!!!!
