Basically, about six weeks ago verizon showed up at my house, with no notice or warning aor anything, dug up the edges of my yard, stuck in these big gray boxes, marked "underground facilities" without my permission or anything. I tried asking questions to a few of the workers, but they indicated they didn't speak English. So I went back inside the house. In the meantime, some of the workers decided they were thirsty, so they came up in my yard, grabbed my water hose and helped themselves. I then saw this African-American lady drive up and I flagged her down and made it clear that this had better not happen again and I tried telling her that they were on my property, but she just said she had asked some man in a red car, which turned out to be my nephew, I said , but he doesn't own anything, that's mine, which she paid no attention to, she just kept talking about the guys stealing the water and she apologized for that, half-heartedly. My main question is, can they do that, just stick something on your property without asking or notifying you? Is it possible to have them removed? Do I have any legal recourse whatsoever? I'm terrified because my parents left this to me and I'm afraid that if they can do this, then eventually they can say well, we need to go further and then further and then eventually try to force me to sell and I never want to sell this because my parents worked so hard to get it.
