I purchased a leather sofa bed in September of 2009. It came with a 1 year warranty. The bed broke from the sofa and a technician came out to the house to inspect it. He declared the merchandise was defective, and encouraged me to buy a different product, stating Value City "staples" their sofa beds to the couches instead of nailing them in.
When I called the store to see if I could get my money back, they only would allow me a replacement sofa...but then they learned they didn't make the product any more. They still will not refund me, and will only allow a store credit.
I do not want to buy another "stapled" couch bed. I only want my money back. They do not stand behind their warranty....they do not care about their customers. My only option was to drive 40 miles to the store and receive a store credit.
Would you please assist me in getting my money back? If not, simply help me get the word out that the store will NOT stand behind their merchandise, and even their own service people condemn it.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I am a single mom and this was all the money I had for furniture when I made the purchase.
