Bogus Dog Trainer - Dog trainer/ training service dogs
|
| - Phelan, CA |
We have a 11 mo old dog (at the time of service was 9mo). We needed to have him trained so he would be a good family dog and mostly to be safe around our children. We saw The website www.dogwishfoundation.com while searching for a trainer. We were impressed with the fact that he trained dogs for disabled children. We decided to take our dog to his facility for 8 weeks of training. The facility is about 3 1/2 hours from Las Vegas where I live, so I was able to visit our dog every other week. On my third visit, one of the trainers showed me a few commands and said they would work with me more upon my next and last visit to pick our dog up. When I did pick him up I was shown nothing, and did not receive any instructions other than Mr. Taylor blurting out the few commands. He trained the dog, commands that where already installed in my dog. (sit, come, and heel) I emailed him the next day asking him to email me the commands he taught my dog so that I could give them to my husband and to make sure we had them right. Instead he emailed me copies of his books. He also never sent a receipt he promised, and I have requested it a couple more times. Nothing.
This is all minor stuff the big issue is that on the sixth day our dog was home he bit my 2 year old in the face. I have documentation and photos to prove it. I asked him for a refund and he is saying that it is my fault the child got bit because I am suppose to have my dog on a leash.
I never imagined I have to sit next to my dog while he rests with a leash on him. I believe that is why we wanted him trained so I could feel comfortable with my dog around my family. I noticed complaints on the BBB as well that at least one other had the same thing happen, her child was bit once the dog came home. I was also told by a a different trainer that he found about five other complaints of bitting issues with the same trainer on Ripoffreport.com. I have not been able to get that website online to confirm this.
I plan on taking him to court, but I need to locate the other victims, I am not sure how to do that. Small claims may be a waste of time, because he probably will never pay me back and will eventually file bancruptcy only to do business again under another name. I hope that maybe you could help me tell this story and locate others that have been victims of this so called dog trainer. I am wondering how many business names he has gone through already?
Thank you,
Angela Hoisington

Posted by Staceyh117 on 06/04/2008 Hi Angela,
I wish I saw your post prior to taking my dogs for trainer with him! Please contact me at staceyh117@sbcglobal.net. I plan on taking him to small claims court. I was asked by Mr Taylor to take my dogs back early and he would come and train them in my house. Both dogs were no better than they were when we brought them. In fact, they were worse! I have more horror stories to tell. It was the longest 3 weeks of our lives! Please contact me.
Posted by gilngavsmom on 06/11/2008 Hi, I have a six year old son with autism who has a dog trained by the dogwish foundation. I am sorry that your dog bit your child. I have had dogs all of my life and know that you can have the most perfectly trained animal and it can have a malfunction of the brain, or have a close bloodline. Bob Taylor is non perfect, but you can not blame your dog bitting your child on Bob. Any intellegent person will tell you that you can not leave a dog alone with a toddler. It is still a dog. One thing I can say that Bob is at fault for, he runs his business from his heart and he is not always very organized, but he will always help those who are in need. Please email me if you have any questions, I can get dozens of happy customers to share their suiccess stories. It sounds like your dog may have had some issues.
Posted by ruspix on 03/19/2010 I have four dogs that I got from Bob Taylor and all of them are the greatest dogs! I have a Yellow Lab that is a service dog for my autistic son. This dog was worked wonders and has changed our life and gave my family more independence. We have a Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff) who is trained in protection but is wonderful with my family and friends. I also got a Black Lab that is getting trained to do diabetes alert for my mother. And just a week ago I got a German Shepard that is three weeks old. It is a great pup and is already learning basic commands. I'm sorry that you have had a bad experience but I know many people including myself who are extremely happy with their dogs. Including a family he trained a dog through the "Make A Wish Foundation".

Posted by bob on 09/14/2010 Angela did take me to court. I was about to prove before the judge that she was lying about the whole thing. The case was dismissed. Why do you run accusations that are unfounded, without documentation, and are unverified, and allow people to say lies without checking anything out.
It sounds like the bogus business here is yours!
Posted by KickerDC3Pts on 11/23/2010 To all the people who have been ripped off by Robert "Bob" Taylor, Owner and President of the United States K9 Academy(www.US-K9.com) and the Dogwish Foundation(www.DogwishFoundation.org). I used to work for Bob Taylor from 9/2006 through 6/2007 as his Vice-President of Marketing/Sales. I resigned from my position after finding out Bob Taylors' business practices. He would falsify rabies vaccinations and many other documents, some being legal. Sometimes he would hold back from paying his employees. His bank paperwork, non-profit paperwork, and others, are falsified, forged, and/or don't match up. He has lied to many clients and has manipulated some beyond belief. He has had dogs die on him due to lack of veterinary care and I have witnessed him bury them right there at his old property on Cedar St., in Phelan, Ca.. You might have walked over a couple of them if you have been out to that property. Be careful with Bob Taylor, because he is a smooth talker and he will look you straight in the eye, with a smile, and lie to you. Just as he did with his former wife, who happened to partner up with their son and kicked him out of the house, serving him divorce papers. Bob Taylor has cheated on his wife, more than once and, he will definitely cheat you if your not careful! Bob Taylor would embezzle money from his non-profit, the Dogwish Foundation, and use it for his own pleasures. Also, if you researched all the awards he says he has, some of them are actually made up or twisted somewhat to his benefit. I have witnessed him tell clients, many times, that he can do the training that's wanted with their dog/s and then deliver substandard results, over and over... Bob Taylor is a fraud!!! Good luck, DC
Posted by Califgirl11 on 01/27/2011 I got a dog from Bob Taylor 3 months ago. He is a wonderful dog. He's affectionate, friendly, gets along with my 2 cats and has never had an "accident" on the floor. Children love to pet him and I've never had a problem of any kind. I did spend time learning how my dog was trained at Bob's facility. This brought the bond between me and my dog even stronger. Bob is always available for help with training. My dog has already made a significant improvement in my life. I find it offensive that people put things out there on the internet as if they were absolute fact. The truth is, I got the perfect dog for me from Bob Taylor. And I would recommend him to all of my friends and family.
Posted by Califgirl11 on 01/05/2012 My opinion has changed since I wrote the above in January, 2011.
Posted by Califgirl11 on 01/12/2012 Correction: My opinion of Bob Taylor has changed since I wrote the above a year ago, in January, 2010.
Posted by Califgirl11 on 03/08/2012 I meant, I wrote it in January, 2011. My opinion of Bob Taylor has changed dramatically since January, 2011.
