My wife and I have been living in our present apartment for sometime and the landord has allowed the place to deteriorate to the point of being unfit for human habitation!The place reeks of mold and mildew, has no heat for the winter months!The bathroom is dispicable. Peeling paint on the walls and ceiling, mold, mildew, a wide open window that does not close, water bugs and roaches all over the place. The kitchen is not much better. The appliances are old and outdated, there is a space between the walls and the ceiling, under the sink is a wide open space for rats and mice to get in during the winter months, the side door sticks due to a poorly installed frame!(Not good in the event of a fire!)The tap water has an ardent odor to it not drinkable!The ventilation is very poor, without a/c one could almost suffocate in this apt. The front door has seen better days, it can be easily kicked in by anyone evven a young school child!My wife and I are ready to move out due to the diminution of this apartment!We are both disabled I have copd, emphysema and dyspenia. I am on 24hr oxygen I have a power chair and a walker to get around in. My wife has a sight problem, she can't see as far any more. The landlord is a 24hr active alcoholic who doesn't care about his tenants. He takes the rent money and drinks it all up!The place needs to be inspected and then condemmeded!Until the place is brought up to code!If anyone knows of an attorney who can help bring this landlord to justice, please contact me at my email address.
