Unifunds CCR is a shady collections agency operating out of Cincinnati. Using my Social Security number which did not tally with the debtor the were looking for they got a court order to garnish my wages WITHOUT the legal requirement of notifying me of any such pending case. Wrong name but they managed to pursue said wrong name and identify my employer. When I saw a chunk of money missing from my paycheck, I tracked down their operatives through my company's payroll department, a law firm in Coral Gables, Florida called Pollack & Rosen and they were able to identify me as a victim of someone's (Unifund's) carelessness within minutes.
That was June 25th when the desist order was faxed to Uinfunds. As of today July 8th they are still helping themselves to my salary at the sum of almost $1,000 a month even though they know I am the wrong person. A little bit of research has shown me that Unifunds CCR is infamously underhanded and the subject of a number of lawsuits. They have damaged my credit rating and seem pretty cavalier about redressing their slapdash work. I have yet to see a cent or get any assurance of the return of my money.
