Stevenson Kia-Jacksonville, NC Complaint

Unfair Customer Service - Vehicle Sale

- Jacksonville, NC
Approx. one year ago I traded a 2004 Nissan Frontier Crew cab 4x4 in on a 2006 Kia Sorento. The dealership told me over and over again what a great vehicle it was and how dependable it was. Over the year I owned this vehicle it was in the shop for all kinds of stuff, mostly due to the cheap nature in which the vehicle was manufactured. Last week I got fed up with taking it in for repairs and after I read about a death that occurred with one family after air back not deploying on this year/model was beginning to become a problem.

I decided due to Stevenson's lifetime warranties they offer to give them a chance to redeem their reputation with me and give them another shot so I decided to trade in the Kia. Everything was good at first, I got a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. One of the stipulations of my deal was that whatever vehicle I choose that it include a tow package. I was told that the dealership would include it into the deal. Then I had noticed that this vehicle did not have any floor mats in the vehcle and I asked the salesman (Chris Hodges) about getting some. He then gave me his word and stated, "if you get the vehicle I will get you some floor mats myself!" Well after my deal was all said and done they did not honor their commitment to the customer and stay true to their word. They waited until the deal was just ready to close before telling me that they were not going to do the tow package. I was mad about that, but fine, whatever. Then I was told by Chris, my salesman, "give me a couple of days, and I will have the floormats for you!" Came back in a couple of days and Chris said, "the big boss is here today, can you come back on Friday?" Was not happy but fine. Went back today (Friday) and was told by Chris, "well I could not locate any and they are $70 at the dealership and I cannot afford them.

So basically he gave me, the customer, his word on something, to get me to buy this vehicle. And then after all the money was received he does not stay true to his word. I know the value of floor mats is not a large sum, but its the principal of the matter. Here is something to think about fron the owner of Stevenson taken from their website:
