Deptartment Of Labor And Industry Complaint

Unemployed By Unemployment Compensation

- Pennsylvania - pennsylvania
Well in April of 2009, I opened my claim with the Pennsylvania dept. of Unemployment Compensation, I was approved and collected my benefits of 26 weeks. I then received a letter stating that I was approved for Emergency extension of benefits, so I filed my claim bi-weekly as I had for 26 weeks prior. Well no money appeared on my debit card when it was supposed to, but you are told to wait approx. 10 days, there could be a delay, still no money, so I finally contact the call center, and I am told that I am not going to be receiving the extension and since I also had hours in New York I had to file a claim there. If for some reason new York denied my eligibility, I would then be able to collect the emergency extension benefit through PA. Well, New York did open the claim, as a new claim, not as an extended benefit, being as that my original claim was opened in PA. Now as my benefits are just about ready to end I find out I am not going to be able to collect any extensions from New York State, because I am Not Eligible, because there is no legislation passed for new claims past, the date of May 30, 2010. New York is not honoring the 26 weeks of benefits I collected in PA, and PA passed me off to New York, and Pa is not Honoring my claim at all. I am being treated like a human ping pong ball between PA and NY. I feel cheated from PA because I should have just continued to collect my benefits as I was. I went to NY on there command and now my family and I will have absolutely NO INCOME, once my 26 weeks is up at the end of the month. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS SITUATION before myself, my wife and our 4 children are thrown out on the STREET.
