Began looking to replace very old linoleum floor. Settled
(inappropriately) on the Concord Floor Store for Armstrong Alterna Tiles. Very beautiful, easy to clean, various patterns when installing, etc. etc. Had tiles installed by one of their recommended installers who turned out to not be
very good. Had to call him back out 4 times for recuts.
After installation, with just basic, normal traffic in the floor, carpet surrounding on all sides, carpet on steps entering home, these tiles are grabbing dirt specks which can not be cleaned with their recommended cleaner. Also can not use anything abrasive. I tried for two months to get these spots/specks off but couldn't. Contacted Armstrong, got not where. Took almost 6 weeks to get the Floor Store manager to call me. Bottom line, these tiles have a "Lifetime Residential Warranty", an "unbiased" inspector came out and determined they were of a petroleum base, he used 409 to clean them and sent a report says all is well. It is not. They aren't clean. I purchased 409 and it doesn't work for me. The manager, Robert Capps, is a jerk and doesn't back the consumer in any way. Watch out for the sales aspect - they say anything to get you to purchase, and then you're on your own. They have nothing to do with you and don't care. They already made the sale, they have the dollars - it's not their problem!
