I happened to have met the "editor" from un-wiredTV in tokyo and he offered me his business card. a month after, we contacted each other so that's how it started.
I was only interested in him sending me the "commercial" that he took of me in tokyo for Jarritos (without signing any contracts of broadcast) and possibly making a friend. He found me online, almost stalker-like, and added my myspace, facebook, and god-knows-what-else.
He offered me a job at his "company" that's supposedly legit, and made a date to meet to talk about it the first time. I was very interested and ran around 2 places that day just to talk to him and I was very hyped about working for this legitimate company that's "backed by Sony music". He keeps showing me what I should do for his company, and I gave him my resume. I'm already a professional interviewer and photographer for another company, and am looking to expand. I am much more qualify for his job description than any regular joe off the street. He basically took my resume and "forgot" it at the restaurant. No biggie. I'm looking for a job and he's hiring. Things are going great, he's good to chat with, besides the fact that he repeats himself over and over again a lot about how big this company is. He said that all interns will get pay in Feb. He also asked me if I have friends that are interested in the position, and I said yes. So I made plan to introduce my partner in the other company to him. We had something plan that night. We were gonna go clubbing. So I invited him along so that he might talk to my partner and possibly land her a job in that company as well. The more we talk, the more we find out that we're not gonna get pay. There is no contract. No paperwork. No guarantees of pay for work that we do, but we have to work and write articles and if they like us, "there might be a possibly to get money in the future". We talked, and we were semi-interested at that point, because we are already professionals and we have no need to intern for more companies that have no proof of future pay AND contract!!! He also told us that he want us to work in Tokyo, but we have to pay for our own plane ticket. I said that I'm not paying to work, and he said that I will be guarantee to meet people in the industry, (WARNING SIGN!!! SCAM!!!!!) so it's really for MY OWN benefit!!!!
So that's not all....
So that night we met at the club, and I told him ahead of time that it's a Korean club with different culture that you might not get used to. Girls get pull to tables, and guys can't sit at the girls table.
Later on, he kept complaining to me that he did not enjoy the club, and I was supposed to talk to him and I did not, because I was too busy dancing. I wish I still have that chat log on facebook. But he was being ridiculous childish about it--- and still tells me that there are all these girls waiting to work for his HUGE company! I said I'll get back to him later if I'm still interested.
So after that I sorta just let it slide and didn't talk to him. Me and my partner both decided we will not put up with his BS company.
So today, out of the blue, the editor of this supposed prestigious company greeted me with none other than "u never got back to me'
it ku no worries I can tell you werent serious, lol"
keep in mind that I did not contact this guy back, because he was already being rude, ridiculous, and beating around the bush with the pay.
