NBC, ABC and all other chanels Complaint

Years ago when cable TV was just getting started, we were
promised TV without commercials, if we subscribed to cable
TV. Fine, we did so. However little by little commercials
started to invade our programs. A little is ok, but now we have half commercials and half program. That is bad enough
but, now they have added sound to our programs, terrible sounds, whistles, bells, roars loud music, loud enough to require one to keep saying "what did you say, what did they say." Enough is enough, is there any way we can stop this intrusion? Surly the producers are aware of this.
