On Feb 23rd 2008, we went to Tumbleweed to order our regular filet, tossed salad, and twice-bakes. We couldn't get our usual 6 oz because they only have 7 ounce now. It was the squarest filet I've ever seen. The salads was sent out to us without any onion, bacon bits, croutons, and a very thin slice of immature tomato. We didn't complain, we simply removed the tomato and wilted lettuce, and ate what we could. Then our filets and twiced-baked arrived and the potatoes were cold inside. I had requested bacon around my filet and it was missing. The server stated that would be an extra $1. I figured no sense in sending it back. The steak tasted like sirloin not filet. Did they change meat companies? At this point, the manager began slinging clean ashtrays onto the tables (we were the only customers in the smoking section). I asked him if he was bowling and he just look at us and left. I usually bring our out-of-state friends to this restaurant but we not in future. I brought the steak home to my peke dog and she wouldn't even eat it. The only good aspect of this adventure was our server. He has a bright future - he was a very dedicated server. In our area $60.00 for a meal is quite high. We didn't mind paying the price if the food was good but it was ridiculous. I predict the Somerset Tumbleweed will fold in 6 months if something doesn't change.
