I had a total 3 visits to Human Motion Institute, during each visit I was put under X-Ray. I was under the impression that X-Ray are covered at 100%. The first day x-ray were covered at 100% because it was filed as diagnostic visits, the 2 sets of follow up x-ray were filed as clinical visit. Clinical visits are covered only at 90% but they were not supposed to be clinical visit, but rather just office visit. All office visits are handled differently than clinical visits. I was told by a nurse manager at UMC that UMC has this wrongful practice of billing office visit as clinical visit when in fact the visit was just a simple office visit, this way UMC can tag on extra charges that give them funds when in fact the charges has absolutely no relation to the patient care.
