I fell in Wal-Mart's parking lot. I was walking across a median and tripped on a 4" tall tree stump that was not cut to the ground. I hobbled into the store and they sat me down infront of the customer service counter took my complaint and bandaged my elbow, hand and knee. Then I hobbled out to the car and drove home. By that time my ankle was huge, I had to have someone drive me to the ER in Reedsburg, WI.
I broke my right ankle and was not able to drive for 4 weeks. I had to pay someone to drive me to dr's appointments. Plus I live in a 2 story house, I had a very hard time getting up and down the steps.
I called several attorneys and none wanted to bother with a small matter concerning Wal-Mart.
Wal-Mart's people wrote and said they were not responcible since I walked on the median...there was no sign "Beware of tree stumps"!
I feel I should be compensated for the 4 weeks of not being able to drive.
