I have a Toyota Sienna handicap van that is used to transport my son David Augustine. He has muscular dystrophy. This van has two major problems since its purchase in 2006, and the reasons for the problems was just discovered. On hot weather days the gas tank with blow back fuel when you attempt to fill the gas tank. Second the vehicle will stall out for unexplained reasons. After three years of searching for the problem, a local Toyota dealer discovered that the vapor canister leading from the gas tank was improperly installed. It should be mounted above the gas tank. This is a major fire danger as the canister is designed for vapors, but instead it fills with gasoline causing the fuel problems. Should a fire start or an accident happen, handicap individuals could not get out of the vehicle. Freedom Motors modifications of vans is a major issue as they do thousands of conversions each year. They have been notified and so has the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. No one is willing to act, and I have proof there is a major problem for these vehicles.
