I want to summerize my experience I had at Toyota of Lewisville, December 12, 2011.
My Wife and I spent 4 hours with Toyota working out a deal. I was very clear about what I wanted. I approached the sales man and made him aware of the fact that I had been car shopping all day, I knew what I wanted, and that I was ok with going to a different dealership if they did not have what I was looking for. I was prepared with all the information needed on my trade ins and the dollar amount I was willing to spend. I addressed this within the first minute of negotiaons. We came to an agreement and shook hands after 4 exhausting hours. While drawing up the paperwork Toyota finances says to us, and I quote” wait this can’t be right we wouldn’t make anything off this deal.” He then says to us, here’s what I can do. I can keep your payments the same, however; it will be 6 years instead of 4. Ya’ll do the math. That’s 715x24! Toyota then refused to honor the deal we all had agreed on. We were told then that the Manger was unaware we were making a 4yr deal. I find this impossiable to believe seeing as how it was written down and I was asked for my own good faith signature. To make things worse Toyota called us the next day and attacked our integrity, stateing we were seen changing that information via ccTV surveilance. I must say although extremely offend at first, I can only appreaciate the fact that you do have surveilance. I now know the company can view this transaction and indeed see where we pointed out on our paperwork the deal that had been worked out for us. As of today I have only been contacted once by Preston who was accompanied with someone whos name has slipped my mind.
After this incident I did my homework and found Toyota of Lewisville has had several similar complaints. It appears the majority of the “mistakes” happen with African Americans and Women. I my self am a caucasion lesbian married to an African American woman. I can only assume they saw an oppurtuinty within me.
I found out this information by looking up Toyota of Lewisville via BBB and Rip-off report.com. Although my wifes heart was set on this Toyota Tundra for Christmas I doubt this experience will ever convinece me to shop toyota.
