eTix/First Avenue Complaint

Ticket Sales a Farce - Tickets to Paul Simon

- Minneapolis, MN
The possibility of getting tickets to see Paul Simon May 3rd at First Avenue never existed, despite being mislead by eTix and First Avenue via their print ads, website and call center.

I called at 11:58a. m., 2 minutes before tickets supposedly went on sale, and was told to go to the eTix website, that that was the best channel to purchase them. I had the website up anyways. The button on the website remained "not for sale/unavailable," at all times, never indicating any availability.

I called back 800# and at 12:05 was told the event was sold-out. I asked how that could be when there were never any available, and was told to bugger-off.

It's a scam. There were never any tickets available to the public in the first place. ETix and First Avenue acted dishonestly in how this was communicated to the public. WHO HAS THESE TICKETS?

I got tickets- and I am of the general public. I probably got lucky and refreshed my screen at the right time, but nonetheless, I still got a pair. I'd agree that there probably weren't many tickets available and these uber-popular shows always sell out in a matter of minutes anyhow. I've never tried to get tickets to such a high demand concert before (and never have paid more than 50 bucks for a single ticket before), but I knew my only chance would be clicking in on the website online. Sorry you didn't get tickets, but now you can be the wiser for next time.

Yeah, I'm sorry to break it to you, but it wasn't a scam. It just sold out very, very quickly. There were 1300 tickets available to sell at noon on the 15th. The purchase limit was 2 per person, so essentially 750 people got lucky enough to buy one. I was one of them. I can never say this too many times, I GOT LUCKY and was able to purchase tickets. But it wasn't a scam, believe me.
