I think the news needs to describe what is happening in the San Diego real estate market with Coldwell Banker in Encinitas, CA 92069.
My partner and I are first-time home buyers that put a bid on a home in San Marcos. Knowing that the market is pretty tough, the sellers real estate agent told us that the sellers had accepted our offer and that all she had to do was get them to sign the paper work since we had submitted a copy of the deposit check and all the documents we could at this point. We offered exactly what they were asking for the home.
Excited about finally purchasing a home after 6-months of searching and bidding, we thought we were in the clear. About 40 minutes later, our real estate agent called us and informed us that we were dumped because another offer was "better" than ours. Another offer was accepted after our offer was already accepted and we didn't understand how this could happen. We then learned that if it is not in writing, then it means nothing which is what Fancies preached to our agent. Any ethics we thought real estate agents held was thrown out the window. We were then told by our agent that Fancies Colace of Coldwell Banker in Encinitas (the agent who dumped us, her phone number is (760-801-2443), told here that she thought that the house was mistakenly under listed and that her clients should get more money for it and took the "better" offer even after she told us our offer was accepted.
Imagine how we felt, our happiness and phone calls to some of our family members was soon followed by phone calls of disappointment and some embarrasssment. I am sure this is happening to several people in San Diego, especially first-time home buyers like us and I think people would appreciate hearing this because had we known that just because they accept your offer, it doesn't mean it is really accepted.
