After exhausting all avenues, I lost my home, life's savings, credit and health. the nightmare began after buying a "packagedeal" land and modular house, advertised on line. After >a year of negotiations,, promises, delays and a multitude of construction problems, a closing took place and the fun began. Never could use the water, due to faulty improper well drilling, could not use showers, due to faulty divertors, could not use driveway, due to constant drainage problems, could not walk property without sinking into knee deep muck. Builder refused to remedy, even after court, where he stated house was sold"as is" A brand new house. The mortgage company was no help, simply wrote the loan, took no responsibility for having issued the loan knowing the structual problems, building inspector issued a CO, knowing of the existing problems. State and Town officials agreed this was a serious problem, however could offer no resolution. This list includes 2 governors, Code Enforcement, the EPA, DEC and private attorneys. After 2 years of spending hard earned money and maxing out credit cards to try and make the home livable, I gave up the fight. I couldn't rent it, sell it or afford to continually make repairs on what was originally new but never worked. I walked away losing everything! I am now without a home, living on pension, pinching pennies and constantly worrying about paying ordinary living expenses. This after a career of health care, helping others. A senior who still has to work for the basics. Needless to say I lost faith in the system, no longer trust and feel there is no justice. I am, and join others in being a victim of both individual and government corruption
