Texas Landscape Of The Metroplex Complaint

Landscaper steels my money - Patio

- Frisco, Texas
Here is a story of a man who goes around the North Texas area bidding on jobs and keeping the money.

I hired this man to put in a patio, drain system and plants. His bid was OK and he was a very pleasant man. I decided to do business with him. My contract was for $4200 with $2100 as a deposit. We made an agreement to start in three weeks. He never showed up. Six months went buy and I decided to file a police report as the money will not be returned or the job being done. I also contacted the Denton County Disctrict Attorney office. They advised me that nothing can be done, it is a personal matter and you must go into the small claim courts. I filed all the proper paperwork and did all the right things. I won the case because he never showed up. It is now another six months and he still has my money and I can't collect it. I won the case but he does not have to pay. I have no way of collecting it. The legal system is protecting him.

I see two other complaints on line where he did the same thing. How do people like this get away with this. How come the criminal is protected and the consumer is not?

Dear Scammed Homeowner:
Sorry to hear that you were taken and that law enforcement couldn't care less. It seems like they are just numb to this type of occurence as it happens so often. I considered moving to texas as I was taken so badly by a contractor in Florida. It just seems to be everywhere. It is so aggravating not to have any help.
Sincerely, Susan
