Tasca Ford Complaint

Owner of Popular Ford Dealership & "You Will be Satisfied" Author

- Rhode Island - 1300 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920
I purchased a brand new 2007 Ford Mustang on 03/3/07, and was informed the 1st service was at 5000 miles. On 8/2/07 (Sunday) at 2:30 am on the New Jersey Turnpike, without any warning or indicator lights, the engine seized while I was coming back from Baltimore (I live in RI). The car had 3400 miles on it. The car was towed to a local Ford dealership where I was informed the engine had no oil in it. The dealership could not explain why it did not have any oil (it did not leak out) or why the oil or engine lights did not illuminate. The cause could not be determined, however the result was the oil was gone and the engine needed to be replaced. I contacted Tasca Ford 1st by phone then by letter and was told I took delivery of the vehicle and it had oil (the car could not travel 3000 miles without it Tasca’s letter stated), and they are not responsible if it had a defect. I was told I would not be given the relief I sought (which was for a new vehicle, towing, and lodging expenses) because they were not liable; regardless of the fact that I purchased the new car from them. They even ended their letter stating they have been providing quality Ford products for 65 years – which I inferred to mean what ever problems I experienced was of my own doing. I felt this was a further insult because the car was not even 6 months old and Bob Tasca (owner of the dealership) authored a book “You will be Satisfied” however the dealership made NO attempt to do so.

Ford Motor Corp only agreed to replace the engine after I complained - which is still not the relief I sought. I have a defective product and the engine seizing was a result of it; a new engine does not solve the problem. I am still without a car because I’m afraid to drive the vehicle. They (Ford) could not determine what happened, and since the engine seized without warning the first time, it could happen again. I am paying for a new car I cannot drive.

I purchased a brand new car and should not have to deal with these issues and the no service/support position from Tasca is unbelievable.

I suggest you spend more time looking for the person whom may have a beef with you and emptied your oil out of your car. I am a Mechanic and your car would not travel 4 miles without locking up. Most would not even make it out of the parking lot without oil in it. There is no way in Gods creation your vehicle drove for over 3000 miles with no oil in it. Never... Not in a million years...
