I went to a scheduled appointment for my skin when I was 18 years old and my grandmother drove me there because I did not have a car yet. I went to see Dr. Khorenian before and since I am a full time student I am covered on my mother's insurance, Cigna. I pay a $40.00 co-payment and the insurance covers the rest. On 10/25/2006 I went in for my visit (which lasted 15 minutes after waiting for 1 hour to be called in) and gave my $40.00 payment at the reception desk, which was accepted. My grandmother was present at that time and saw the receptionist accept the payment. After my visit, when I came out from seeing the doctor, the receptionist told me that the doctor no longer accepted my insurance. I asked her why she did not inform me before I went in so I could find another doctor who would take my mother's insurance. She did not answer me. My grandmother then questioned her about why this policy was not displayed at the desk so the customer/patient could ask if the insurance was still accepted. She did not answer her. Now I keep getting a bill for the balance after the $40.00 co-payment, which is $110.00. The invoice threatens to have a collection agency handle this. I have called the office trying to reach the doctor and have only spoken to the same receptionist that was there on that day. The phone number to the doctors office is (201) 503-0302.
