Suzanne de Paris Complaint

When Is Free Not Free! - Skin Care

- Madison Avenue, New York NY 10022
After meeting Suzanne de Paris at an event, she called to offer a complimentary facial at her skin salon on Madison Avenue. I begged off but she insisted saying it would make me feel wonderful and after all it was complimentary. So I conceded and met her at her salon on Friday May 23, 2008. She was the only one there. She said she does not have anyone working for her except her daughter. And there were no other customers. After putting many creams on my face she informed me that although this was complimentary she usually charged $5,000.00 for this procedure. I was taken aback as I have had many facials in my life and they were never that expensive. More like $100.00 to $150.00. After she finished she informed me that I needed a morning regimen and an evening regimen and it would be $6,000.00 and how would I like to pay. I gasped at that point, I assumed that I would feel obligated to buy something and thought that I would buy a cream for about $100.00. I told her that I was not going to give her $6,000.00. She began to get agitated and said I would have to take one regimen. I then said I was not going to give her $3,000.00. At this point she became angry and said alright I will do you a favor and you can take 3 products for $1500.00. I told her that I was sorry I took up her time but I had no idea her products were this expensive but this was not for me. I tried to leave but she had locked the door and started screaming at me that I had taken her time and she had used all these extremely expensive creams and that I was stealing from her. I ended up buying one product just to get out of there. It was a cream for $700.00 and I put it on my American Express Card. I left there fuming with memories of a horrible experience. I immediately called American Express. They told me to send the product back and get a return receipt. The following day (Saturday) I sent the product back via FedEx. About a week later the package was returned to me and the tracking information said she had refused the package and she would not take it back. Not only were her products too expensive for my pocket-book, but also too rich for my skin as I woke up the next day with my skin broken out and my eyes swollen. This woman is a scam artist and her strategy for proccurring new clients is extremely shady. I would like to have my money back $700.00 for the cream, $60.00 for New York State tax and $9.81 for FedEx. I would also like to see that this does not happen to another unsuspecting consumer. Thank you, Elaine Marlowe
