I recently had a sump pump fail, in my home, which resulted in a minor flood of two rooms in my home. Being desperate, I call All Clear(a plumbing company) to help with my disaster. Upon arrival, around 6pm, the representative said he would replace my pump for $625. Being desperate, and not know the cost of the pump(I asked the representative and he said he didn't know); I had no alternative but to agree. The plumber, also at the time, had convinced me to replace 2 additonal pumps at the same time; saying that his prices were competitive, if not cheaper, than other plumbing companiesA few days later, I found out that the pump cost was around $200 which means the labor cost was $425 for a half hour's worth of work. After numerous calls to All Clear, I finally spoke with a manager(Tara) who was unsympathetic and said that the price is the price. I'm just tired of people being taken advantage of; especially during an emergency. Maybe some bad publicity for All Clear will send a message. Any help/advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
