Nissan Complaint

suckered into a Sentra

- Springfield, Ohio
In 2008 I purchased a brand new Nissan Sentra 2.0 S CVT from Beau Townsend Nissan in Vandalia, Ohio. Actual mileage on the car when bought per sales contract was 14. I was ecstatic as this was the first "new" car I'd ever been in a position to purchase & afford. At less then 36,000 miles in 2011 the drivers side window started to malfunction and the check engine light began coming on. When I referred to the auto manual about the check engine light I was enlightened to see that it could be the gas cap had not been clicked when last fill up occurred. Hence after clicking the gas cap, the check engine light did in fact go off. I was not too worried about the window at the time as I was going through chemo and not in a position to afford getting it fixed. Shortly thereafter the check engine light and oil light came on and I noticed white smoke coming out of the tail pipe. I have always had routine oil changes and was burning oil and needing more before my next oil change. I contacted Beau townsend Nissan for repairs and because the car was now at 38,000 I no longer fell under warranty and they wanted $100 just to tell me what was all wrong with the car. I handed them a list of what was wrong and asked for an estimate to fix each problem and again was told it would be $100 for them to look at it. I walked out in tears because again, with now being unemployed because of my illness, I did not have an extra $100 to plop down for a "lookover" to tell me what was wrong. I did a ton of research online about this car and found that 2003-2008 recalls were in mass production and complaints were being filed and no one was seeing results. My car is a lemon and falls (I believe) under the Ohio lemon law. I have since contacted Beau Townsend and been rerouted to everyone under the sun, just to hear I am up a creek without a paddle unless I can pay for this cars repairs that have obviously fallen under the recall list. I have contacted 1800NISSAN1 and been rudely spoken to and again, redirected to any and everyone except to someone who can give me help or answers. I have contacted the BBB and reported the incident but because I have not "actually" had any repairs done (due to lack of finances) I have no documentation to help with resolution of my dispute. I am in the process of contacting a lemonlaw Atty. for the state of Ohio, but again, I can't afford repairs, there's no paper trail and yet I continue to pay $370 a mth for a car that is literally falling apart before my very eyes and is obviously a recall and no one is willing to help me or acknowledge that something HAS to be done to rectify this problem. I have never driven this car hard, always maintained its oil changes and upkeep and to date only have 46,000 miles on the car. I can't afford a new car and to trade it in would make no sense because I was suckered into a nissan lemon that I owe more on then what it's worth. I have tried contacting Nissan Headquarters and again, to no avail. No one will help me with this recalled car!!! There is absolutely NO reason why I should be having these problems with this car at such low miles and under warranty or not, I shouldn't have to pay for repairs that the manufacturer obviously knows & knew exsists/exsisted and yet continues/continued to make/sell over the course of 5 years. The car is a recall and sombody needs to either fix the problem for free because it is a manufacturer defect or replace the car. this is ridiculous and very sad. I feel that because I am just a lowly ill low incomed consumer, my pleas go unheard and it needs to stop. Nissan needs to step up and acknowledge responsibility for their mistakes and rectify it and stop passing the buck.
