Consumer's Original Complaint :
Before on or about September 2010 you entered the storage unit of # 200 illegally and stole things from our storage unit. You did not at any time have permission from my husband or me to enter this unit. You had no proof of and returned letter or registered letter stating demand of any money owed to you before the date of September 20th 2010. When I came there and ask twice once before and once after paying you $360.00 to get in the unit where the certified letters were? You stated in storage. You also stated on the phone the day pyre it all be May gone Kirby may have pulled a truck up and removed it all. You moved things to another storage unit # 214 with out permission. And again that is why I came to KY within 12 hours of the phone call.
Consumer's Desired Resolution:
1 one set of Royal M China setting for 16 including gravy boat and butter dish- My mothers ( I have 4 sauces and 2 tea cups that were found 2 tea cups broken  Sterling silver service setting for 12 with desert knife and spatula  -my grandmothers 100 years old Sterling silver service setting for 8 -my mother's1 Sliver service set of 12 with desert knife and spatula -mine 1 large Waterford crystal vase- my mother's - 70 years old1 sliver chain with a Kennedy one dollar coin on it - my father made for me 2 Dan Marino Dolphin autographed plates 1 Dan Marino rookie card  2 Waterford candy dishes -my grandmothers -100 years old  3 crystal bowls - my mother's   1 Timex woman's watch- Charles grandmother 1 half carat diamond ring-Charles Grand fathers 1.  4 foot speaker with complete stereo system- Charles mothers I have the other speaker 1. Jewelry box -my mother's WITHAll the custom jewelry that was my mother's 1. He will call me back after he contacts the owner. I have requested the response and he agreed to call me back to let me know how they were going to respond.

The following is my response to all statements made by Mr. Collins/Merrick
I refuse to get into a back and forth he say/she say with this business.
The facts are,
I was late a lot on the rent for this storage unit
Mr. Randough did not produce any letter or certified letter to me when asked for five times, it was in
storage he would find it he never did.
Mr. Collins did not have the key to unit 200 only unit 214 where a few things were taken from unit 200 Kirby Randough had the key and I had to wait until he got there.
Mr. Randough and Mr. Collins were both there when the door to unit 200 was Open, Mr. Collins stated you will need to bay the balance of $360.00 before you can go in or take anything that was left.
I paid the amount Mr. Collins than handed me both keys to unit 200 and unit 214 and that's when I ask for the police to come. That is when Mr. Randough and his other helper starting running for the truck.
I have no idea what the sheriff said to Mr. Collins because he had already took off back into the office I was yelling they went in and shopped in my belonging his response yelling you abandoned it.
The sheriff stated to me that this was going to be a civil matter since there was no proof of a break-in.
As for a the way my husband left Burger King, we have no idea what that means nor do we care.
Again this is not about Charles or me or how we pay bills, how we live, who we owe, what is past or what is future. This is about this business not following there own polices and the KY law.
As for Mr. Collins stated Mr. Merrick had no way of reaching us that is the furthest from the truth.
Mr. Merrick was friends with Charles on face book and Charles text Mark about the new Restaurant opening. Mr. Merrick was very short with My husband that he had to put his girls to bed and Charles did not know why he was so short. Now we know why
The text was in Late Sept.
Fact: Our car was not sitting on his lot for Four months It was Seven months. Charles went in the first week in April to get the car. Charles stated to Mr. Collins that we knew we were behind in the unit and please understand that Lynn did not take the Job and was going to retire for good this time. Mr. Collins stated to My husband don't worry about it it's safe. Now all that is hear say from my husband and since I did speak to Mr. Collins Two weeks later he said where you at we updated the address with him. That should have been the address he sent the letter stating we needed to pay.
As for me telling him it was the economy that the rent for that storage unit was not paid is lie, I said I had no job and was looking for one and That Charles was caring all the weight. We rented from Mr. Merrick a house when my husband worked for him and we had problems paying the rent. Times are hard and that is why we left Somerset because Charles wanted to make more money and he is. As for him leaving on bad terms, Mr. Merrick gave him a great ref for TX and for AL. One in writing.
I could go on and on here with this response to that letter he sent to you, however if they had followed their own policy in there agreement we had, and the laws of KY. I would not have written to you.
Mr. Merrick and Mr. Collins can attack mine or my husbands character all they want Because it does not matter to me what they say. We admit statements were correct about paying late and I add another to it with the rental house.
Conclusion:
I have had most of the things in storage all or most of my Sixty years living. There are things that was taken I would give anything to get back. How can one person write in their defense that we could not have known everything we had in there as an excuse of what they did.
How can they use the excuse that we asked for another key lock change because we had someone's else's stuff and he had the key and was afraid they would go in. I did call him and ask him to put another lock on it due to the key could not be found by me, I did find it afterwards in the bottom of my purse.
And if someone tried to break-in my unit why did he not say that to the sheriff that day .
Mr. Collins, Merrick
Produce the letter returned to you from wherever you sent it to.
Produce the certified letter with demand for payment
Produce the letter of inventory you took when you went in moving things to another unit.
Produce the letter of date of sale or private sale in newspaper.
A hard lesson to learn as you state for not paying our bills on time does not give you the right to do what you did.

I will not respond again in any type of letter to the BBB unless this business would like to admit they did not follow the laws and allowed our unit to be used as a shopping mall or produce all required paperwork including sale date and inventory taken.
