Common Myths that Floridians must be aware of:
1. The State of Florida does not issue contractor licenses to Convicted Felons.....FALSE!
They not only issue contractor and other professional licenses to felons but also turn their back on the consumers that file complaints of abuse!
2. The Better Business Bureau will disclose any consumer complaints that have been filed.....FALSE!
They have selective criteria that makes many consumer complaints fall through the cracks!
3. The Florida Dept. of Business and Professional Regulations will disclose any consumer complaints.....FALSE!
Maybe when a professional license holder has been sanctioned or found guilty in a court of law. Otherwise, I believe that consumer complaints are be filed where they will never see the light of day!
4. Florida Contractors face consequences for filing fraudulent liens, manipulating contracts, consumers or the judicial system.....FALSE!
My experience has shown that there is no consequence for Dirty Contractors who break the law in the State of Florida and they commonly abuse the judicial system as leverage to extort money from homeowners!
5. There are State of Florida agencies that will come to your rescue when you fall victim to a contractor's scam.....False!
The agencies are store fronts only. No one will come to your rescue except for the expensive attorney that you may need to hire!
