I pray you will consider running this story on behalf of my 103 year old grandmother.
She had lived in the Midway Gardens Apartments located at 767 E. 60th Street Chicago IL for 37 years. She moved out on December 18, 2010. The apartment was cleaned when she left in an effort to get her security deposit refunded because she is on a limited income. When the apartment was inspected by the apartment manager, I was told she would receive a full refund of her security deposit plus interest within 45 days. Forty-five days came and went and no check. After numerous calls and as many excuses; she finally received a check after 72 days. On March 30, a stop payment was placed on the check. When this was brought to the manager's attention, they said denied any knowledge of it and put the onus on my grandmother to provide proof. The manager has been provided with the proof however is now requesting more time to investigate.
