My boyfriend and I returned home to our small trailer in Coppell, TX on 01/02/2011 after an extended stay in Houston visiting family. We were there from 10/04/2010 until our return on 01/02/2011. While there we utilized the internet to retrieve our UTILITY bills and make payments. On the invoice dated 10/22/2010 my bill was $42.89 with an "ACTUAL" METER read showing. On the invoice dated 11/23/2010 my bill was $98.24 with and "ACTUAL" METER read showing. As you can see my usage went up and no one was home. How is that possible? We notified Green Mountain of this and were instructed to make payment and dispute this with Oncor. Well, because of the holidays and it not being too much of an increase I decided to let it go which is now apparent was a big mistake. On the invoice dated 12/29/2010 my bill was $285.04 with and "ESTIMATED" METER read. I'm still in Houston at this time. What is going?? Since then I've filed complaints with Green Mountain, the Attorney General's office, the Public Utilities Commission of Texas and nothing has been done. I attempted to file a compliant with Oncor, but they refused to accept one, referred me back to Green Mountain and have since put in a new meter and added new charges to my account. The invoice showing the new charges shows all the meter reads to be "ESTIMATED" for all the above invoices I mentioned. I receive my utility bills from Green Mountain Energy and have since October 2008. I have learned that they are just sort of a "middle-man" in this whole utility service provider vicious circle. It's all confusing and quite frustrating. We have film footage of several meters in this neighborhood that are missing locks, which we complained about months ago, and footage of the actual bills received and the new one. We are barely making it and Oncor and Green Mountain are choosing to not even listen and believe their OVERPAID LAZY METER READER. I REFUSE TO LAY DOWN AND TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!I HAVE ALL ALL PAPER BILLS THAT SHOW ACTUAL METER READS AND THE PAPER BILL THAT SHOWS ALL THOSE TO BE ESTIMATED READS. IF THE PEOPLE THAT ENTRUSTED TO PROVIDE AND REGULATE THIS SERVICE CAN'T BE TRUSTED, WHO CAN? NOW I'M IN DANGER OF HAVING MY POWER DISCONNECTED. AS I'VE SAID, I'M BARELY MAKING ENDS MEET, IF I LOSE WHAT LITTLE FOOD I HAVE IN MY FRIDGE BECAUSE OF LOSING MY POWER, WHAT WILL I DO? WHAT WILL MY CHILD DO?
