St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association [info@visitsxm.com] uses deceptive and unfair advertising to lure customers to their auction site. It is not really an auction but an off season discounter. I made reservations and they were accepted, then they turned around and cancelled my reservations. Their excuse was that it didn't fall in the allocated time frame between May and November. That makes them a discounter not an Auction as they purport themselves to be because an auction would allow the use of the property at any time when they are not completely booked as when I made my reservation. I looked on their website and NO WHERE on the auction page or in the Terms & Conditions is any such statement of only good May- November. The second thing they pulled was to switch us from one hotel to a different one, and then to a timeshare hotel where I'm sure we would have been constantly bombarded to buy a timeshare. This is what is called Bait and Switch.
They stole $400.00 from me and gave me nothing but excuses. Watch out I'm sure they would be happy to take your money also. They have violated every contract principle because there is no fair exchange of anything. They just STEAL your money.
