Sony Electronics Complaint

Sony's phony! It's in their DNA! - Consumer Electronics

- New York, San Diego, Tokyo
I, like thousands of other electronics consumers have been scammed by Sony Electronics. I own a Sony Grand Wega rear projection Television that has developed a blue haze that is generated by an internal part called the Optic Block.

Sony knowingly installed defective optic blocks in several of there Grand Wega TV's from 2004 on. I registered my TV with them online immediately after purchase, so I could be notified of anything that could effect the TV's performance. I, like many others was never notified of any issues and only found out that so many others have the same problem by doing an online search.

I have been in contact with Sony this week and they have offered $300 to replace the defective part that will cost a total of $1200 ro replace. They also offered a 'deep discount" on a new TV from them. The only problem is, the price is more than I can buy the set for at local retailers. So that is no deep discount.

I talked to a representative named Peg French at 239-768-7588 who would not forward me on up to her manager.

I feel that the only way we will get satisfaction from Sony is by obtaining the media's help in exposing them regarding their lack of proper customer service and for knowingly selling defective TV's to unsuspecting consumers.

Please help is in our quest to get this story out to possible Sony customers as this is the biggest time of year for electronics purchases.
