Receiver quit working on left channel after 6 months light use. Called Sony and they said unit has internal problem and asked me to send it in for service.
1) Sony would not pay for shipping. Cost me $38 including insurance and tracking number.
2) Once at repair center in Laredo Texas Sony state there are some scratches on the unit thus it has physical damage and no longer under warranty.
3) Wrote to Customer Relations requesting repair under warranty.
4) Customer relations declined to fix under warranty and wanted $325 to repair it saying the unit had signs of physical damage.
Dont buy Sony. The repair process is horrible and they will not honor warranty.
I have spend thousands with Sony. Then when I need something repaired they are unhelpful and try to find ways of not repairing your unit under warranty.
I do not trust them anymore and will never buy another Sony product.
A total waste of $500.00
