Social Security Administration Complaint

Social Security Takes Money from Young Widow Again

- Cocoa FL
Dear Sir:

In Sept 2010 Social Security sent me a letter that I was overpaid on my survivor benefits. Two years ago I was issued two checks by mistake, and I tore up one. After an investigation, the matter was settled. Over two years later they have again withheld monies unjustly. After numerous calls and visits to the Cocoa Social Security Administration, I still have not been able to straighten out this situation. I have spoken to Ms. McClain and Ms. White and neither has done anything to help or explain this situation to me. I told them that I have automatic payments going out of my account; and if my check wasn't deposited on the 3rd of the month, I would have return charges levied by my bank as well as credit card late fees. In checking my account, I have discovered I am in arrears of over $60, and the check for my son's school pictures have been returned.

I lost my husband several years ago to cancer when he was 22, and I have been raising my son, Tyler, on these survivor benefits. I live check to check while I have been looking for a job. I can't afford to be without my money and to have additional bank fees levied. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me in cutting through this governmental red tape.
