My name is Tonya Dorsey. I was a tutor for Renaissance Enrichment Services from November 2010 until the end of January 2011. I was placed at Northcoast Hope Academy where I tutored 5 kids a day. Some days I tutored 10 kids (I don't even think that was legal per Ohio dept of Ed. NCLB guidelined, but that is another story) when the other tutors did not show up due to winter storms. I am a fully certified teacher and I know how to work with small groups. I was originally told that I would be paid by April 15, 2011, but never was paid and then they said by July 16, 2011, but as of today 7/25/11 I have not heard back from them. I was told that I would be paid $15 per child an hour that I tutored. So the days that I tutored the 5 kids it would add up to $75 per hour and the days when I had more it was more. I saved all of the emails with the names of the students. I have saved the emails of all of the times they contacted me. Starting from the first email. I also have copies of the student sign in sheets so they can't say that I did not tutor these kids. I am owed over $1700 for all of the hours I tutored. I would like to be paid for my services. I am not a slave or volunteer. If I wanted to volunteer I would have volunteered at my own school with my own students. I would like the public to know that these tutoring services are scams and they do not treat their workers fairly. I work hard for my money. I had to leave my own daughter in daycare while I was tutoring for this company. I risked by life on dangerous roads during December and January to tutor for this company. I AM UPSET. I would like the public to be aware of these types of companies and for those out there that are trying to make ends meet by doing gigs like this that YOU WILL NOT BE PAID.
