I placed a special order for closet doors with Dolan's of Benicia (lumber), I ordered the doors with the following measurements:
Two panels 48"W x 93.5"H
Two panels 30"W x 93.5"H
Four panels 42"W x 93.5"H
Cost including taxes $454.87
I showed the sales person the measurements listed above.
The doors I received were: Two panels 48"W X 80"H
Two panels 30"W x 80"H
Four panels 42"W x 80"H
The doors received were 13.5" shorter than the doors I removed from the closets.
Their solution is to sell me another set of doors for $460.
The solution offered me is not acceptable, the combine total for the doors including their so called solution is over $900.00
The other solution offered to me, sell me the material to build a header above my closet door openings, texture the wall and paint it. The header is to close up the space created by receiving the wrong doors.
My solution: I offered to pay the difference in cost between what I paid for the wrong doors and what the new doors would cost. I can not see buying new doors; the information entered into the computer is not what I wanted for the size of doors needed to replace my closet doors.
I should not have to change my closet door opening to accommodate their mistake.
