Sheer rip off!

Sheer cover infomercials are flooding Tv channels and make you think that it is the best product in the world. When you apply for the product on the phone, they don't tell you that they will charge your credit card every month for a certain amount ad send the products every month.

When I received by 2nd set, I called their customer service and asked them to cancel my account and stop these automatic payments. They said that they would. But when I checked my credit card statement for July, it was there again, a charge for $29.95. And the charges keep changing. In June it was $37.90. And these charges are applied on a weekend so its difficult to call and dispute.

After going through this, i checked online reviews and found lots of women going through the same scam!!

SOMEONE NEEDS TO STOP THEM NOW, FLEECING INNOCENT PEOPLE OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY!!

If you return shipments to SHEER COVER, be sure to get confirmation. They just turned me over to a COLLECTION AGENCY even though I HAVE PROOF via a phone call with the account specialist that they got my package back. warehouse.

I got a shipment in last December, closed my my account in January 2009. I had hubby mail the package back in March.

I have never gotten any bills about this shipment.

Just got a phone call from an abusive collection agency telling me Guthy-Renker Corporation - SHEER COVER turned me over because I had an outstanding bill of 97.00.

I was flabbergasted! I told her I had sent it back unopened and would not pay for it. She said I still had to pay. I told her I would never pay the bill. She hung up on me.

I called SHEER COVER immediately at 800-506-6281 and spoke with a women with such a stong SPANISH accent, I could not understand her. Because of the language barrier, I asked to speak with a supervisor. She hung up on me.

I called back and talked with WALT. He said my package WAS RECIEVED on March 27th but I'd still have to pay!!! He said because they recieved it outside the return policy date.

I disputed this. I said you got it back, unopened in good condition which he agreed with. He would NOT take this off my record. I told him if he could not do it to transfer me to a supervisor.

I then spoke with KATHY, an Accounts Specialist. She confirmed they got the package back on March 27th. She also said 'supposedly' I had been sent 5 bills from December 12 when it was shipped. I told her I had never gotten a single bill.

I am astounded. I closed my account in January, sent back the package inopened and never got a single bill from this company. BLAM-O, I get a nasty collection agency call from 866-281-4135 and this is the first I've heard of this.

They got the package back UNOPENED and they can just ship it off right now to someone else. This is LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE. You'd think they would cut me slack. This is LOUSY.

I don't even have a jobbut that is NOT the point. They got it back, they can send it to another customer and I feel I've been ripped off. They keep the make up and I pay for what?? Thin air? I don't need the stuff.

This company has NO COMPASSION. Do not EVER buy anything from Guthy-Renker Corporation - SHEER COVER. Take it from me.

I had the same thing happen to me. I called and canceled and I'm still getting charge for the garbage. Don't order from this company what ever you do.

This is a real scam and rip off to the women who bought into their "introductory makeup". I agreed to try it for $29.95 - I received it and was not significantly impressed and thought "ok" $30.00 down the tubes. Next week I saw that my account had been charged $97.91. When I called to complain I was told they would not credit my account. The rep stated that when you agreed to buy the intro kit that you were automatically agreeing to the continued contract charge..!!! What the hell? I have tried every avenue possible to have this company's rip off tactics reversed and without any success to date. BEWARE!!!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS ONE GIRLS - It is a straight up rip off and I don't care who is doing the endorsements - they take your money if you use a card and there is no means of adjudicating the issue. Buyer BEWARE!!!

I had the same experience. I ordered the kit for $29.95, discovered I was to be billed $42.15 for three months, to be topped up automatically, every three months. This, in light of not having received the product. I ended up cancelling my credit card so that no further billings could be processed. I sent an email of complaint directly to Leeza Gibbons, to which she responded, and apparently I am to receive a refund for the initial payment. I would not deal with that company, again. I suspect it is Gunthy-Renker's misleading marketing schemes that dictate. Very hard core, IMO. Customers are deceived, on purpose. I *know* I was!

But when I checked my checking account, it was there again, a charge for $46.98 and because of that I had to pay for overdraft. Now i have to change my account they are rip offs

I'm from Canada and got ripped off the same way only thing different is I sent it back to Sheer Cover by Canada Post to the Canadian Mississauga office. I got a tracking # when it went back. I waited a couple of weeks (as I was told to to allow it time to get to them) When I called I was told that they showed it had not been received. LIE LIE LIE When I went on to check the Canada Post tracking # I find that it was received and signed for by a D McLean 3 days after it was mailed out. It is now over 3 months since they received it and was told that I would see the credit for the return on my card another LIE LIE LIE.
So delealing with This company is like trying to kiss your own butt (next to impossible) even if you cancel they still send and charge you the full $97 (which the product is not worth - Avon has a mineral powder that works just as good) and much much much cheaper.

BUYER BEWARE - BUYER BEWARE - BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU PLAN ON SPENDING CLOSE TO $40 MONTHLY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE FOR A PRODUCT THAT CAN BE PURCHASED IN YOUR LOCAL DRUG STORE.
