Hi I am a former student of Create charter high school, I graduated in June 08. on graduation day were told that we would receive our yearbooks and our diploma which we did not receive. about a week later after graduation we received our diploma but the yearbook wasn't even spoken of. we asked over and over again until we were told that we would receive our year books over the summer in which we still didn't. it was now October and we were told that we would receive it at the end of October which we still didn't. we worked really hard on the year book. Since the beginning of our senior year we had been taking pictures and thinking of ideas to put in the book. the year book was about 80 dollars on top of that we had to pay for prom, graduation pictures, cap and gown, and the class trip which we didn't even have. we were told by teachers and staff that if we didn't pay our senior dues then we could not go on the class trip and or walk across the stage for graduation so we didn't have the option of putting down a down payment. it was so difficult for us the students. We couldn't really do anything about it because we had no student voice. the teacher that was responsible for getting the yearbook committee together was very impatient. she never wanted to work on the year book with the committee because she had no time. To add insult to injury I had found out that the person in charge of the yearbooks had moved out of the state. By this time we began our first year of college it has been exactly 10 months since we were last told we were going to receive our yearbooks. surely enough they came in February. As I browsed through the year book I noticed and it looked as if it was thrown together. like they had gotten sick and tired of us calling the school and constantly asking "are the year books in". because the yearbooks were late and most of my former class mates had gone out of state off to college we were not able to get signatures and phone numbers to keep in touch. the year book was supposed to be full of pictures of the class of 08. there were more pictures of the teachers, staff, and under classman then the seniors itself. there is about 3 pages where the seniors graduation pictures are featured, but on the back of the page there is a list of 30 names of the seniors who graduation pictures are not featured. even if they couldn't find their graduations pictures they could have put up an replacement picture instead there was no picture at all. all together there are 130 typos there are about 6 pages full of teachers and staff and at the end of the book there are 3 pages full of very tiny pictures. on all three pages combined there are only 40 out of 110 pictures of the seniors. the rest of the photos are of teachers, staff, and underclassmen. we paid 80 dollars for this year book and it is not up to standard. they should give us our money back.
