My mother has lived in montauk seniors apt for over twenty years. For the pass six or mor years she has put in a request for a first floor apt. But ever time the apt. Down stairs from her has been vacant management come up with a lost her paper work reason as to why they over look her. Her legs and feet are swollen and therefor it is hard for her to walk so she had been requesting a frist floor apt. In the past she has fallen down steps twice and broke her ankle. She was younger then so at 80+ yes she is very much afraid to gfo up and down stps. She lives alone so because of this she doesn't get out. My question is who can be contacted to find out why is it that my mother has always been over looked for an apt. On the first floor, while new people move in and get what they want. The buildings are suppose to be for seniors and handicap, yet the are not equipped for handicap. People with wheel chairs have no ramps, and the building is a two story walk up. That's not good for people with medical problems. One man always had to be carried down in order to geet out just for some freash air. Can anyone help.
