Sears It's My Money and I Want it Back Now!!! - on line purchase of mini netbook

- Waco Texas
On 10/2/10 I went online to the Sears site and found a little netbook I wanted to check out for possible Christmas gifts for the grandchildren. It was listed for $98.00 but there were no reviews on the product so I decided to order it because Sears is a good company that honors returns.
First surprise is you don't get it from Sears but a third party vender Sixth Street Electronics. Ok, Sears approves them, it must be ok. Made the order, paid with my debit card and received the mini computer in a couple of days. I tried to get it on the internet. No luck after several tries. I decided it must be something I did wrong and decided to take it to Geek Squad at Best Buy. They can't get it to take the internet at their store, so I head on over to Clear. I get good service from Clear so it has to be some minor little something and they will fix it for me. No luck there either. This little jewel is cute but not ready for the internet which is the only reason I wanted it for my grandchildren.
I read all of the refund information and contacted Sixth Avenue Electronics to return the item and get a refund. I was sent the shipping lable through my email and printed it out and returned the item on 10/14/10.
i have since changed banks and contacted Sixth Avenue Eletronics to request my refund be sent to me because I no longer had that bank account. They told me they would send the refund to Sears and Sears would then send it to me. So I called Sears to give them the information about sending the refund to me. I was told that they would give me the refund but that someone would contact me by email about it because the young lady in customer service didn't know how to enter the information I was trying to give her. After a week no one contacted me from Sears so I called them again. This time I spoke to Michael and he told me that my refund had been sent to my bank and I would need to contact them for my refund. I tried to explain that I no longer had that account and that it was a debit card purchase and the bank would not have that money. He insisted they did and that I should call them because it was against the law for him to send me a refund by check on my purchase.
Tired of getting no where with him and knowing he had no clue what he was talking about and not listening to what I was trying to tell him, I decided to try calling the bank and of course they said if a refund had been sent to them electronicly it would have been declined due to account closed.
I decided to try the online chat with Sears so that I could print a record of the discussion in case it went the same way again. Sure enough again I was told my bank has the money and I needed to contact them for my refund.
Once again I was told someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours. Once again no one has contacted me. They have received the merchandise but have not given my money back to date. This is fraud!! Deceptive trade practices!!
I went on line and looked up Searsonline.com and the reviews on there about service tend to show that this is the normal practice for this company and not just a rare occurrence. One man has been trying to get his money back for a year!
