Sears Complaint

Sears In-Home Service as bad as Home Depot? - GE Front Loading Washer

- Towson, MD
On December 16th my GE front loading washer boot seal tore. I contacted Sears service center to set an appointment. The earliest appointment possible was the 31st of December, a full 2 weeks from the date of my first contact. On the 31st, the repair man came to my house and did not have the part needed. He stated he'd order the part and rescheduled my service appointment for today, January 7th, now more than 3 weeks since the tear to my washer. I scheduled the day off work to meet the repair man, again, between the hours of 8AM and 12 Noon. This Saturday, 1/5/07, I received a call from "one of 25 service centers around the world," indicating that the part had not been shipped and I'd need to reschedule when the part came in. I asked the lady when the part would come in and she replied that it had not been shipped yet. On Sunday the 6th I received another call from Sears confirming my appointment for Monday the 7th. I had to inform the caller that the part had not been shipped according to the lady that called me yesterday. This moring I called the customer service center and spoke with Monique, a "manager empowered" service rep that has no supervisor and no means of providing resolution except to say that the part is on back order and will be in on the 21st. My service apointment is now set for the 23rd, more than a month after initial contact with Sears. This is outrageous!
