For the last year, I have had absolutely no income coming in to my home for me and my two girls and I had no idea what I was going to do. I had been out on medical leave because of my chronic disease and I didn't know where to turn. I really didn't want to live off of the government, but I had no other choice but to get some assistance.
Two weeks before Christmas I had got a payment from the state but it wasn't enough to get presents at the local mall, so I decided to buy in china. Everyone was so happy with what they got from me and it was the best feeling!
For some reason, I had been having constant crises so I wasn't able to meet with my caseworker, so I had been dropped from the snap program. It really didn't bother me since I knew tax season was a couple of months away. When I had received my refund, I decided to pay a few bills and then spend the rest on products that I wanted to sell on ebay.. great! I can take care of my family now.
I searched for over a month and was looking for the best prices and I had finally found a place. I wanted to start off selling 3 products and we agreed on 6 ipad 64gb, 6 iPhone 4 32gb, 4 dell insperon duo's, and keyboards for the ipads. I got the western union information and I sent the amount we agreed on. They said once they received it my order it would ship out the following day.
After a few days had passed I asked what was going on and she said she was waiting for the tracking number, but I stlll diidnt get one for weeks. I asked for a refund and she gave me a tracking number a couple of days later, so I was satisfied. On the 14th of the following month it had been delivered to a Kentucky address...?.. but I'm in Illinois. I had initially thought it was in transit and the last location it was scanned was in Kentucky.
After being in a neighboring state I knew it shouldn't have taken another 2 weeks to get to me so I emailed USPS and it had been delivered and signed for. I emailed the sales woman that I ordered them from but no answer. I wanted answers so I went to the site.. WRONG SERVER NAME, ha! I did research and the domain had been dropped?.. damn! I lost so much potential business because I trust people way too often. I have always had in the back of my mind that, if I wouldn't do it, then no one else would.
God, I cried like a baby! Not only was I out of thousands, but I couldn't get my dads proud expression out of my head that he had when I told him I was starting a small business. Here is this 72 y. o. man taking care of his household and also his 33 y. o.'s household. I wanted this SO bad because I know my time is almost up and I wanted to go on a cruise or something with my girls so they could have that one special memory with me, and I could say I did it.
I can't bring myself to tell them what had happened because.. I'm ashamed. I have girls who take care of me more than I take care of them, and I just wanted to show them my appreciation.
On the 20th of March, I googled the name again but addded shanghai in front of the name, because I knew what city they picked up the money in, and they sold the exact same items. I sent an email to get a price quote, and got a message that my question had been forwarded to a person named... M****! I have been in contact with every agency, but I'm very unclear if my tracking # was bogus or did someone receive my order and sold my products. Either way, the shipper nor the receiver would respond to this matter, so now my kids are suffering because of me.
