In 2005, I purchased a vehicle from The Van Depot and also purchased, through them, a 4 year $1800.00 Vehicle Protection Plan from America's Choice Protection Plan. Shortly afterwards, when I attempted to have vehicle repaired under this warranty, I found out from The Van Depot that this company no longer existed. Not only did I have to continue to pay for the Protection which was included in my car payment but I had numerous repair bills which would have been covered had this company still been in existence. I am out $1800.00 plus a few thousand dollars in repairs. Attorney Generals office in PA has obtained a default judgment against the owner of America's Choice. However, they have not been able to attach any assets to this judgment for collection. The owner of America's Choice was Frank Gaffney, now residing in Florida, apparently with no assets under his name.
