Dear Eric Eve:
Although I find it an unpleasant task, I feel that I must bring to your attention an issue I experienced because I was told I was being called in for a job interview by Citigroup.
I was, of course, delighted to have a Citigroup representatives call me directly stating they reviewed my resume on careerbuilder.com and that my qualifications were a perfect fit for a job opening they had right now.
However, concerning the representative, I have a rule that I feel that should be enforced. Every representative claiming to represent Citigroup while offering a position should in fact be doing just that.
I was called in by “Katrina” to report to 469 7th Ave 4th Floor, New York on Thursday 5/14/2009 for a job interview with Citigroup. During the first part of this interview I was told that the division I was interviewing for was called “information & marketing”. During this interview I was told that this department although part of Citigroup right now was making more than 40% of Citigroup’s profits and was going to be breaking away from Citigroup soon. I was then told my skills were a perfect fit for them and asked me to stay for a group interview within a company meeting. During the group meeting A. K.A. seminar which showed the true nature of what I was coerced into attending. I was told that this was not a real job offer not an entrepreneurial opportunity which again was not what I was told when I was called in and only during this seminar was I told that the division of this company was called Primerica.
In addition, one of my references called me today asking why I gave their contact information to this company for financial services. I explained that this was an error on Citigroup’s part and that I would contact the company to stop this immediately. I called Katrina @ 646-226-0989 and informed her that if any reference will be contacted from this point on I will look for a legal recourse.
Naturally, I do not want to cause trouble for anyone. The representatives including a V. P. who introduced herself as “Janice” seemed very personable and was just trying to make money however I am sure you can understand that this is not an appropriate way to silicate especially under these false pretenses considering I had to incur child care and parking expenses as a result of this lie. Please look into to this ASAP so that this does not happen again and I do expect at minimum an apology but preferably to be reimbursed for my expenses in which I do have receipts.
Sincerely,
Sofia Khauslender
