I drove to AMMCO Transmissions to have my car checked for a fail Safe light on my 2002 BMW 745i. I brought the car there on 9/29/2011 about a week later I got a call from the service Mngr Ali & Victor saying they can not figure out why the lights are on but if I wanted to have them check any futher it will cost a service charge of $ 200.00
I told the service Mngr to check and it was no problem paying $ 200.00. I then got a call about 3 Days later saying they found the problem and it should cost me $ 1,774.96 to fix the problem. I went to there office and made a deposit of $ 700.00 so they can start the work. 3 weeks later after not hearing from no one I called there office and was told by the service Mngr Ali & Victor that they were unable to fix my car and it might cost another $ 4,000 thats a total of $ 5,774.96. I told the Service Mngr that I could not afford it. I then asked him why was I charged $1,77.89 and he could not perform the work. He then told me its not his problem thing happen...About 1 min into our conversation the Owner of the AMMOCo Lou comes out yelling at the top of his lungs ..IM NOT LOOSING MONEY he quotes..I then asked him why should I be charged for work that was not performed. He then told me to take a hike a go Get the Money or I don't Get my Car. I called the Police and Consumer Affairs I was told to present a check and in the Memo section to put "PAYING UNDER DURESS".I went back to pick up my car with the check and I was told By The Owner Lou He does not Take Checks mean wile the AMMOCO Franchise has a program called EPS 90 ..were you give them a few checks and in 90 days the money is taking from your account. I wonder why Lou would not acepect the payment by check or Money order witch there are no signs stating that..After all of the talking he wavied the labor fee and Made me pay for parts Total of $ 987.00 ..I asked him to prduce any or a copy of the invoice for the parts he orderd he told me he trew all the old parts away ..and he does not have any invioce from the parts...
I was like many other people taking for A RIDE with a total lost of 1,000 and I had to have my car towed from AMMOCO to A BMW Dealer ..Dont forget the beging of the story I drove my car in now I'm towing my car out and have a statement from AMMOCO that my car is not in Driving Conditions.
