July 31st 2005 I purchased a 2005 Saturn Ion auto from Car Dealership: Saturn Of Charlotte. Charlotte N C.
The car was financed throuh GMAC of Baltimore MD.
My first payment of $393.30 was due Sept 2005 and was maided in money order # Z 045180140 4. in Sep 2005.
By Oct 2005 I had not recieved a payment book so I mailed the second payment of $393.30 to the same address and account number I was to use until the payment book came!
On November 10th approx 2:00 am GMAC came to my home address and repossessed my car for none payments of Sept & Oct of 2005.
As soon as it was day light I immediately got on the phone telling them there had been a mistake.But, they didn't seem to care.
I traced, and found both money orders be cashed by GMAC. The money went into the account of another GMAC costomer who had the same account number as was give to me!
I called GMAC almost everyday for the next few weeks trying to reason with them but they would always justify their actions.
GMAC would not confess or make good on their mistake nor return my money.
in fact they insisted upon a Nov Payment of 393.30,which was a month the car was in their possession.Plus, they insisted I pay a $425.00 repossession fee!
By Dec 13th 2005 they had sold the car and are now billing me for lost value and other fees!
I contacted the Attornney General Office in Jan 2006 but as of 3/2/06 GMAC have yet to respond to them!
