My home in Gilbert, AZ was going through a deed in lieu process with Chase. Chase Property Preservation department called their vendor, Safeguard Properties to change the locks on the property BEFORE the date the home was suppose to go back to the bank. We were still living there. The contractor that went and changed the locks in our home, helped himself to my finacees PS3, 10 + games, jewelry, clothes, money, sunglasses and a flat screen t. v.
I of course, called the police and when the contractor was quetioned by the police, he said that he took pictures of everything in the home to prove he was there! He told the police that he even pulled money out of the wallett and took pictures along with the t. v. to show that he "didn't take anything." This is unlawful entry in the highest degree. Those were our personal things and we feel violated. How do we know he didn't make copies of the key after he changed the locks? Safeguard needs to take responsibility for their actions and set peramiters around their contractors. We are fully prepared to take legal action if necessary.
