After leaving a church picnic I got into my car. My car lunged backwards and hit a utility pole that was placed in the middle of the parking lot. I got out of my car to see what the damages were. Seeing that there were some damages to the rear end of the car I then proceeded to reenter my car to drive home. After I started my car, the car suddenly accelerated and proceeded to drive like it was on cruise control about 35 miles per hour! The car accelerated towards a parked car crashed into the car, then proceeded to jump a fence and hit a brick apartment building. Luckily no one was injured other than myself.
I never had an accident before and have driven hundreds of thousands of miles because of my career in sales.
I sustained multiple fractures in both feet and experience pain on a daily basis. I was bed ridden for months and had to rely on a walker, wheelchair, etc. My right foot was operated on to fix the "crushed calcaneous" which is the heel bone. I had numerous casts on both feet. Needless to say my life was changed forever. I have post traumatic stress syndrome and find it difficult to work because of my physical and mental and emotional problems.
Lawyers do not want my case because they said I was not "injured enough" and it would be too expensive to investigate the problems with the car.
Other people should be made aware of this problem....it does not only occur with Toyotas. I would like to be compensated for my pain and suffering, and lost wages. I do not consider my case a frivolous lawsuit.
